What is Ranking?
If you look at your association's home page, you will see left of your guild icon a small bar that says "Rankings:" followed by a number. This number is the rank of your association for that current time. An associations rank is determined by the total number of activity points each member has contributed since the server reset on Monday. Associations with more activity points rank higher than associations with less. Rankings are rest each Monday following the server reset.
What defines a Ranking guild?
A ranking guild is one that regularly places in the top 100 or so associations for weeks on end. Associations that rank below 100 are not typically considered ranking guilds. Many high-rank associations differentiate themselves by where in the top 100 they place- top 50, top 25, top 10, and so on.
What are the benefits of being in a Ranking guild?
Being in a ranking guild does not grant you any benefits in terms of in-game rewards. Associations that rank typically do so as a matter of prestige. High-ranked associations, especially those in the top 25, are often looked up to and respected by other members of the LN community. Their members are acknowledged as serious players.
Ranking requires an increased need for coordination, so most ranking guilds are highly social. In addition, because high activity levels are required to maintain a high rank, ranking associations are usually high-level to maximize member capacity, complete commission stages faster, and also often complete the Co-Op Contest suits faster as well.
What are the drawbacks of being in a Ranking guild?
Ranking guilds often have a minimum weekly activity requirement of 77, or sometimes 91, per member. Reaching these requirements necessitates being a daily player, something that not everyone necessarily has the time for. In addition, members of ranking guilds often spend diamonds on extra commission tries or Wishing Stars in order to boost their guild's activity points, and therefore rank. While diamond-spending requirements are highly unusual in a ranking guild, it is commonplace for members to spend diamonds on their guild.
